Recently, it was revealed that several iPhones were hit by a bug where the alarm didn’t go off, and many people complained about not reaching their workplace on time due to this issue. And as Samsung has done in the past, it did not leave the opportunity to take a dig at Apple.

Samsung UK took a jab at the iPhone maker by posting a short video (Reel) on its Instagram handle, trolling Apple for the alarm bug on the iPhone. In the video, you will be able to see a dog, wearing a hat, dancing on the remixed version of Samsung’s default alarm tone.

The video also had a caption that read: “Rest assured, our alarms GO OFF,” while adding that “Samsung users woke up on time today.” The remixed version of Samsung’s alarm tone has a nice ring to it and is pretty catchy as well.

Due to a bug in the iPhone’s settings, the alarms for some users are working as they should. However, not every iPhone user has been affected by this issue. Apple said it is aware of the problem and is working to fix the bug with an iOS update.

Samsung has a history of trolling Apple, so much so that the trolling has later come back to haunt Samsung. For instance, Samsung mocked Apple for doing away with the 3.5mm audio jack from iPhones; however, Samsung itself ditched the feature with the Galaxy smartphones a few years later. Similarly, Samsung trolled Apple for removing the charger from the box, only to do the same with Galaxy phones a few years later.

Apple sales drop but Samsung manages to climb the ladder

In 2024, Samsung’s new strategy seems to have worked for the company. Instead of imitating innovation by fitting a new camera hump design every year, Samsung shifter gears drastically a few years ago and aimed for the top spot. It settled on a design language and kept refining it each year, and took some pages from its rival’s playbook.

The company aimed to take on Apple rather than fighting with Oppo, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Huawei, and others. As a result, Samsung’s phones are better optimized now than ever before. They might not be perfect, like all things, but the sync between hardware and software seems to have done the trick for Samsung.

Moreover, the company is regular with firmware support for flagships. All Galaxy Flagships are guaranteed seven OS upgrades, and the company’s sustainability improvements are also becoming a key part of the process.
