If the new report is to be believed, Samsung is planning to incorporate a 3nm chip in the upcoming Galaxy S25 series with the next Exynps chip, a first for the company’s flagship smartphones.
According to Business Korea, Samsung plans to move to a 3nm chip design for its next flagship smartphone series. This would be for smartphones with the Exynos 2500 chip which would include Galaxy S25 and S25+ devices sold globally.
The Galaxy S24 series comes packed with Qualcomm and Samsung chips. The Galaxy S24 Ultra uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while the S24 and S24+ are equipped with Snapdragon in the US and other select regions, but Exynos 2400 in several other regions.

Will Samsung Launch A Unique Chipset For Galaxy S25?
Previously, Samsung was rumored to launch a “unique” chipset for the Galaxy S25 series, but that no longer seems to be the case. It is believed that the new upgrade will enable Samsung to potentially surpass Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in “aspects such as power efficiency.”
Qualcomm has yet to launch any new chips produced on a 3nm process, but the company is said to use it for the upcoming generations. MediaTek, on the other hand, is planning to make 3nm chips with TSMC starting this year.
Samsung first announced it had started producing chips on a 3nm process back in 2022, claiming at the time that these chipsets witnessed a 45% reduction in power consumption compared to a 5nm process. Since then, Samsung still hasn’t released a product with a 3nm chipset, but a lot of evidence hints that the Galaxy Watch 7 will use a 3nm chip.

Galaxy Watch 7 To Monitor Atrial Fibrillation With AI
Samsung launched the Galaxy AI alongside its flagship Galaxy S24 series at the start of this year, and the new Bespoke range of appliances also leverages AI than ever before. Now, it makes sense for the company to use these AI tools for its wearable range of devices. The company has suggested that it will be bringing these AI features to its upcoming Galaxy Watches.
However, the company hasn’t revealed how it wants these AI tools to enhance the experience on its smartwatches this year. There’s no word on how the Galaxy Watch 7 lineup will make use of AI to its advantage, but a recent patent application might have spilled the beans.
As per the patent application published recently by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Samsung might have figured out how to bring “continuous atrial fibrillation detection via PPG and ECG signal translation” to Galaxy Watches with the help of Gen AI.
