In a generous move, Google is providing users with access to exclusive Photos tools for free. Users without a Google Photos subscription will now be able to use advanced editing tools without having to shell out a $20 fee. It means all users will be able to take advantage of Google’s AI-backed features, including Magic Eraser, Photo UnBlue, and Magic Editor.
These features will be rolled out for non-subscribers in the coming months, starting May 15. To use these features on a smartphone, users need a device running at least Android 8.0 or iOS 15 and 3GB of RAM. People who wish to use these tools on a desktop will require a Chromebook Plus running ChromeOS version 118+. These features won’t be available on any other version.

How Will These Features Come In Handy?
Photo UnBlur feature does exactly what the name suggests. The feature gives clarity to a photo that looks a bit shaky. The Magic Eraser, on the other hand, comes in handy to remove people or things from photos. For instance, you can easily remove a photo bomber without any hassle.
Magic Editor, on the other hand, leverages generative AI to resize, move, or stretch objects. Users can also bring themselves to the center of a picture or closer to another object or person. The feature also enables you to make large-scale edits, such as changing the colour of the sky.
Speaking of the Magic Editor, iOS and Android Google Photos users will get ten monthly saves. If a user wants to increase that limit, they will either require a Pixel smartphone or a paid Google One plan with 2TB+.

Google Making Big Strides In AI Video Creation
Google recently announced Google Vids, an app that claims to make everyone a “great storyteller” with the help of AI. Vids leverages Google’s Gemini AI model to generate videos of the workplace. All a user needs to do is type in a prompt, feed in some documents, videos, and pictures, and allow Vids to generate an entire script, music, and even voiceover.
The app also lets the user pick a template for the video, where they will be able to choose between research proposal, intro for new employees, milestones, business updates, and much more.
After a few minutes, the app will churn out the first draft of a video, which has stock media, storyboard, music, animations, and transition. It even generates a voiceover alongside a script, although users have the option to record their own. Besides, users will be able to manually choose photos from Google Drive or Google Photos to use in the video.
