Just days ahead of its rumored launch on May 14 at the Google I/O event, the Pixel 8a has made yet another cameo. This time, the leaked images show off the black colour variant and its screen bezels.
The smartphone has already made several appearances before, with leaks suggesting a rounded design and a mid-range price. Google itself showcased the product in an advertisement for Fi Wireless. Now, the real-life images provide a peek into other aspects of the smartphone.
The Pixel 8a’s front screen can be seen in full glory in an image shared by TechDroider. The origin of the images is not known currently as of now, but it shows a smartphone with a matte plastic finish on the rear side. It seems the company is doing away with the glossy finish seen on the Pixel 7a.

Pixel 8a To Feature Slimmer Bezels Than Pixel 7a
The leaked images show the display, which is expected to be 6.1 inches. The display does carry some chunky bezels near the chin of the phone, but they are not as big as the ones seen on Pixel 7a. The corners also come with a tight curve on all the edges.
The new smartphone is expected to see the light of day on May 14, which also happens to be the day when Google will be holding its I/O annual conference. The company is said to equip the Pixel 8a with its in-house Tensor G3 processor, similar to the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.
However, the latest smartphone could have a mellowed-down version of the processor. The new G3 chipset might use IPoP (Integrated Package on Package) technology, which will be different from FOPLP (Fan-Out Panel Level Packaging) seen on the regular G3 chipset.
