Microsoft will be holding its Xbox summer showcase on June 9. As per a report from The Verge, the event will take place at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM UK and will give fans a sneak peek of what to expect from the next installment of Call of Duty after the main show concludes.

The company is only teasing the Call of Duty Direct as “the next installment of a beloved franchise,” but sources close to the matter told The Verge that it will indeed be Call of Duty.

Besides, it will mark the first Xbox showcase featuring games across Activision Blizzard, Bethesda, and Microsoft’s Xbox Game Studios.

Will Microsoft Launch Any Other Title At The Event?

Microsoft is believed to be planning to launch a new Gears of War game during the event. The showcase will also feature several release dates for upcoming Xbox titles. This lineup could include Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and Avowed.

Fans will likely get a date on when the big Shattered Space expansion is coming to Starfield. Recently, Todd Howard revealed that the expansion might be released in the fall, and it’s possible Bethesda could be looking at a September release. Activision is targeting the next Call of Duty for late October, with Avowed and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 likely coming in November, and in December Indiana Jones will be launched.

Microsoft is expected to unveil a lot of games for this year, more than what it showcased last year. Fans should also expect a 2025 roadmap for games, with some launch date reveals for the anticipated games.

Microsoft & Meta To Bring Xbox-Inspired Quest Gaming Headset

Meta recently announced its OS that runs the Meta Quest devices will be available to third-party hardware makers. Named Meta Horizon OS, the operating system will allow other device makers to develop devices capable of running on the OS.

“We’re working with leading global technology companies to bring this new ecosystem to life and making it even easier for developers to build apps and reach their audiences on the platform,” said Meta.

One of the major companies that Meta is working with is Microsoft. Both tech giants will join forces to launch a limited-edition device. “We’re working together again to create a limited-edition Meta Quest, inspired by Xbox,” Meta confirmed in a blog post. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrote in an Instagram, that the Xbox-inspired version of its headset will come with “Xbox controllers and Game Pass, so you can immediately just start playing on a big screen anywhere you go.”
