Apple Intelligence might not be free in the future and the company could launch a subscription-based service for its advanced AI capabilities. According to a report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the company will likely put a price tag on its AI features, potentially introducing a service called "Apple Intelligence+."
Gurman has a reputation for his accurate reporting about Apple, suggesting that while Apple Intelligence will initially be free, the company might have plans to convert these features into a paid service. This strategy would mirror the company’s existing model with services like iCloud, where basic features are available at no cost, but additional capabilities require a monthly subscription.
"There’s an opportunity to turn AI features and other software into paid services, but it will take time. Though Apple Intelligence will be free to start, the long-term plan is to make money off the capabilities," Gurman noted.

Apple Could Rope In Third-Party AI Partners For The Service
Gurman also emphasized that Apple could keep a part of the subscription revenue from third-party AI partners integrated into their platform. This potential shift to a subscription model shows the company’s aim to diversify its revenue sources.
With the growing focus on AI, the company aims to be at the forefront by not only enhancing the user experience but also generating revenue from these services. The move would reduce Apple’s reliance on its traditional hardware sales and create steady revenue from its AI ecosystem, Gurman noted.
As of now, Apple has confirmed that its new AI features, which is called Apple Intelligence, will be accessible exclusively on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The iPhone 16 series, which will be launched this year, will likely come equipped with these capabilities, but nothing can be said for sure.
Gurman also said that the upcoming iPhoen 16 lineup won’t come with a "ton of hardware changes." This hints that the company is focusing on software and services, leveraging its AI innovations as a key differentiator in the much-crowded market. The upcoming series of iPhones will make its debut in September, following the company’s long-living tradition.

Apple AirPods With Camera Could Launch Soon
Apple seems to be working on new AirPods that will come packed with cameras. The new iteration will come equipped with infrared radiation (IR) cameras, similar to the ones seen on the iPhone FaceID receiver. It is said that the new true wireless stereo (TWS) by the company will bring an enhanced spatial audio experience when used with the Apple Vision Pro.
During WWDC 2024, Apple launched new features for AirPods like gesture-based controls to interact with Siri, capabilities for head-tracking while playing games, and improved sound during voice calls.
