YouTube seems to be testing a new feature that will integrate Google Gemini to enable creators to brainstorm video ideas, titles, and thumbnails. The Google-owned company announced the launch of the new Brainstorm with Gemini feature in a video posted to its Creator Insider channel.
A YouTube spokesperson told TechCrunch that the new feature will be available to select creators as a part of a small, limited experiment. The platform will also take feedback from creators before deciding whether to roll out the feature to a bigger audience.
The new feature could offer the video platform an edge over other social media platforms used by creators, as it offers them something that’s not available on other platforms. Moreover, the feature makes sense for Google to fuse its AI into its video platform in order to encourage creators to use its AI tools instead of other platforms including OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

How Will Brainstorm With Gemini Feature Work?
Brainstorm with Gemini is similar to another AI feature that YouTube launched in testing back in May, which is an AI-powered content inspiration tool that offers creators video topic ideas that their audience is interested in and then generates an outline of talking points.
The spokesperson told the media outlet that creators now have the option to get the same kind of help, but with Google Gemini, which is the brand for the family of AI large Language models used in several Google products. YouTube sees the new feature as a way to gauge whether creators prefer the inspiration tool, the AI integration, or both when it comes to getting help with content ideas.
Creators who will get access to the feature can open up YouTube Studio, type out a video idea into the search bar, and be shown two options: the inspiration tool and the Brainstorm with Gemini feature. Although the inspiration tool already helps creators come up with video ideas. The platform wants to test whether creators also find the tool helpful for brainstorming with the company’s AI chatbot.
While platforms such as TikTok and Instagram are currently focused on using gen-AI to offer creators the ability to build versions of themselves, YouTube is zeroing in on using the technology to enable creators to build their content.

YouTube Testing Picture-In-Picture To Make Ads Less Annoying
YouTube is now testing a new ad format that will not disturb users’ viewing experience. YouTube has announced that it is conducting a new experiment that should result in ads being a little more bearable compared to what they are now.
According to the company, it will start testing an ad format that enables ads to run alongside a live stream in picture-in-picture. Currently, when it’s time for an ad, the viewer is taken away from the stream as the video cuts to a fullscreen ad. In this new format, however, the viewer will be able to keep watching live content without having to fear missing anything because of the ad break.
