WhatsApp keeps upgrading its features to offer users a more engaging experience. The platform seems to be testing yet another feature that will enable the users to mark all chats as read in one go.
Although this feature has been available on iOS for quite some time, the Meta-owned app could bring the feature to its Android counterpart. WhatsApp update tracker WABetaInfo has found out that the latest beta version for Android 2.24.18.11, available on the Google Play Store, comes with this new feature.
Going by the screenshots shared by the outlet, the option to mark all chats as read will appear in the overflow menu within the chats list, allowing users to clear all unread messages with a single action. The feature is said to be rolled out in the coming days,

How Is This WhatsApp Feature Useful For Users
This update could help users manage app clutter by enabling them to clear all unread messages at once, eliminating the need to open or select each chat individually. Previously, WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp was developing a feature to clear unread message counts. This feature would let users conveniently reset unread message notifications every time the app is opened in the future.
Moreover, the platform recently brought an in-chat note transcription feature for Android users. This new feature curbs the need for third-party transcription apps, letting users transcribe voice notes in five languages: English, Hindi, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian.
WhatsApp is also said to be working on bringing AR features for video calls. As per a WABetainfo report, AR features for call effects and filters have been found in the iOS 24.17.10.74 update, which is available on TestFlight.

WhatsApp Could Bring New PIN Lock Feature
WhatsApp has been testing usernames on its platform for several months. Now, the latest beta version of WhatsApp has revealed that the company is reportedly planning to add a PIN feature for usernames that will offer users more control over their privacy and security on the platform.
WABetaInfo has reported that the WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.18.2 includes PIN support while creating usernames. The feature is to add an additional layer of safety and privacy.
The username PIN is similar to the profile PIN that will prevent someone random from initiating the chat. As per the report, users can set a PIN while setting up the username and it will enable them to prevent random people from contacting them on the platform. Besides, other users who have someone’s username will need that PIN to initiate the chat.
