Grand Theft Auto 6 or GTA 6 publisher and Rockstar Games’ parent company Take-Two Interactive seems to be “highly confident” about releasing the much-anticipated game in the autumn of 2025.
Recently, it was revealed in the company’s most recent financial report that the next big GTA game will be launched in late 2025 despite earlier reports suggesting delays as Rockstar Games urged staff to return to office.
During an interview with CNBC (via Eurogamer), Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has confirmed yet again that the game will stick to its 2025 launch timeline, but also acknowledged that there is "slippage in the industry.”

GTA 6 To Be A Never-Seen-Before Experience
During the interview, Zelnick also talked about how the company’s operations have been affected. "We are not immune from that," Zelnick said, "However, we narrowed the timing because we are highly confident in that time." Talking about the game’s release date, he explained usually comes down to things like "the number of bugs" but for GTA 6, it is also about "creating an experience that no one has seen before".
"Every one of us will make sure we have as few bugs in a title as possible before we launch," Zelnick said. "However, in the case of an extraordinary title for which there are extraordinary expectations, it's not really about bugs, it's about creating an experience that no one has seen before. And Rockstar Games seeks perfection in what they do. Perfection is indeed hard to measure, it is more subjective than objective."
Rockstar Games officially announced the game along with a cinematic trailer in December, which put all rumors like two playable protagonists and a bigger map to rest. It is also confirmed that the game will be set in the state of Leonida, which will see players returning to Vice City.
The company has called the map as "the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet." GTA 6 will be launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S, but there is no word on its availability for a PC release.

Take-Two Recently Laid Off 5% Workforce
The gaming industry is going through a rough patch, with several big gaming firms laying off employees as cost-cutting measures. In yet another unfortunate turn of events, Take-Two Interactive announced that will be letting go of 5% of its workforce.
It means that the company will be laying off around 600 employees, similar to what happened in the last few months at other gaming firms, including Epic Games, Riot Games, Microsoft, Sony, and Electronic Arts. Similar situations have also occurred at smaller studios such as Hidden Path Entertainment and Supermassive Games.
