OpenAI has announced new changes to its File Search system recently, giving developers more control when the AI chatbots pick responses. The improvement has been made to the ChatGPT’s application programming interface (API) and will allow developers not only to check the behavior of the chatbot; 's response retrieval method, but it also let them fine-tune its behavior.
This will help developers make sure that only the desirable responses are picked. Notably, an earlier report suggested that the company is planning to launch another AI model dubbed ‘Strawberry’ that can improve ChatGPT’s mathematics and logical reasoning.

OpenAI Upgrades ChatGPT API For Developers
The AI firm announced the changes to the API via X. The upgrade improves the controls for File Search in the Assistant API. It enables developers to check the results picked by the chatbot and make more adjustments as per their requirements.
APIs are different from the consumer-focused ChatGPT web and apps. While the interface end-users see is fine-tuned by the company, and is set to behave in a particular way, developers who either build internal tools for companies or integrate the chatbot into different apps and software require more freedom.
This could be because while the public version of ChatGPT is configured for general purposes, the API version is used for one specific function. To ace that, users will need the AI to not make any errors, and return responses that are of the highest quality.

ChatGPT Free Tier Users Can Now Make Images With DALL-E 3
OpenAI has recently announced exciting news for ChatGPT users, particularly those using the free tier version of the platform. The company is now extending the ability for free users to generate up to two images daily using DALL-E 3, their advanced generative AI model. The feature was earlier available to subscribers of ChatGPT Plus and is now being made available to a broader audience.
OpenAI took to its X account, where the company shared that free-tier users can now take advantage of this tool to create images based on text prompts. Whether it’s for crafting visuals, designing a custom card, or making an idea a reality, free users can now generate two images each day.
“We’re excited to introduce the ability for ChatGPT Free users to create up to two images per day with DALL·E 3,” OpenAI stated. They urged users to experiment with the tool by offering sample prompts. DALL-E 3, similar to OpenAI’s GPT-4, is a model that specializes in converting text into a wide array of visual styles, from illustrations to hyper-realistic images.
