Just when you thought shelling out Rs 2,00,000 on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold would never be topped, OnePlus decided to up its game with its latest masterpiece, the OnePlus Open Apex Edition, priced at Rs 1,49,999.
OnePlus Apex Edition comes in a colorway so poetically called “Crimson Shadow,” that it almost seems like they are trying to sell users a piece of fine art instead of a gadget. Inspired by the Hasselblad 503CW 60 Years Victor Red Edition, the new variant promises to add a touch of timeless opulence to users’ doomscrolling.
The design of the Apex Edition is what the company calls “modern elegance,” which loosely translates to using a vegan leather back cover with a diamond-like pattern and a vibrant orange accent on the Alert Slider.

The smartphone comes with a light-reflective CD pattern on the camera dial encased in luxury glass. Under the hood, the company claims to offer unmatched upgrades in storage, AI image editing and added security and privacy features.
The independent security chip is said to be a guardian angel of users’ data, physically isolated and more secure than a billionaire’s offshore bank account. Certified with CC EAL5+ for the main chip and CC EAL6+ for the NFC chip, this smartphone is more secure than Fort Knox, at least the company wants you to believe so.
That’s not it! The smartphone’s VIP mode, something seen on Oppo smartphones, gets activated through the Alert Slider, which promises a privacy fortress where mics and cameras are disabled.
