There have been several rumors and speculations about the Watch series 10 redesign overhaul. Now, Apple seems to be working on home accessories as well. According to a report from MacRumors, Apple is working on a long-rumored home accessory in addition to the HomePod and Apple TV.
The outlet seems to have identified a code, and it seems like the code references a device with the identifier “HomeAccesory17,1,” which is a new identifier category. The moniker is similar to the HomePod’s “AudioAccessory” identifier.

Apple Working On Bringing ‘Home Accessories’?
The A18 chip is the same chip that is said to be used in all four iPhone 16 models later this year. With the A18 chip, the HomeAcessory device could also have the Apple intelligence functionality.
The code seems to highlight that this home accessory will be backed by a software variety of tvOS, similar to the HomePod. Earlier this year, MacRumors found evidence of Apple’s work on homeOS, which could be the firmware running on this device.
Moreover, the code is expected to reference two unreleased Apple TV models with the identifiers AppleTV14,4 and AppleTV14,5. Further rumors suggest that an updated Apple TV could see the light of day in 2024.

What Plans Does Apple Have For The Future?
Furthermore, the new smart home display is said to run on a version of tvOS. Besides, earlier this year rumors suggested that Apple could have homeOS in the works. It also suggested that homes could be a combination of tvOS and HomePod software.
This might be a big pivot in the company’s ecosystem, which currently entails Apple TV and HomePod. The device could sport an LCD touchscreen similar to the Apple TV. This could offer users more functionalities for a more seamless experience.
It is also expected that Apple’s Home Accessories have the potential to be a great addition to the home accessory lineup.
