Google Chrome is the most used web browser across the globe and the company has always introduced new features working hard to improve its usability. Earlier this year, the company introduced three new AI tools to make browsing easier for its users. Now, the company has announced three new AI features for Chrome, which utilize the latest Google AI and Geminin models.
In a blog post, Google announced these new features for its Chrome browser. The first feature to be added to Chrome is the Google Lens integration at the Chrome address bar to make search easier.
Users will be able to click this new toggle to select any part of their screen and run a visual search on it. It will then open a side panel and users will be able to see relevant visual matches.

Google Chrome New AI Features Explained
This feature is similar to Google’s ‘Circle to Search’ feature which is currently available on select Android smartphones. On the desktop version though users can make a selection and see visual matches and results in the side panel, or even use the multi-search function to further compare the search results. It is currently being rolled out for all Chrome users.
The second new feature is compare. It is basically a shopping tool that offers an AI-generated overview of products from different tabs and shows them on a single page. The information will be shown in a tablet format for easy comparison. It is initially being rolled out for the USA users.
Lastly, the company has released Smart search history, which will make it easier to search for previously visited websites in a more natural, conversational way using AI. To ensure privacy, this feature will include browsing data from incognito mode as well and users will be able to turn it off from the settings menu. This feature will also be initially available for US users, with a phased rollout in the coming days.

Google Chrome’s Password Breach Affects Millions Of Users
Tech giant Google is facing heat from users after a critical glitch in Google Chrome that has led to the disappearance of passwords for around 15 million Windows users. The incident happened on July 24 and 25, impacting a wide array of sectors including medical institutions, airlines, and banks.
According to a report from Forbes, the disruption stemmed from a "change in product behavior" within Google Chrome, specifically affecting the Google Password Manager, a tool used by more than three million users to store and autofill passwords.
The issue was traced back to the M127 version of the Chrome browser on Windows, which caused previously saved passwords to become inaccessible and prevented new passwords from being saved, the report added.
