Google is expected to take the wraps off of its Pixel 8a smartphone on May 14 during its annual I/O conference. Each year, the company unveils a new Pixel A series phone, and this year is expected to be no different. However, the company hasn’t released any teasers that confirm its existence.
But just days ahead of the rumored launch, the pricing on Pixel 8a has been tipped. The specifications of the device have already been doing rounds of the rumor mill for a while now. Let’s have a look at everything the Google Pixel 8a is expected to offer.

Pixel 8a Price Leaked Ahead Of May Launch Event
If the information provided by tipster Yogesh Brar (via X) is to be believed, the Pixel 8a will see the light of day in May, which doesn’t really come as a surprise since Google will be hosting its I/O 2024 event on May 14.
Speaking of the price, the tipster suggested that the smartphone could set you back by around $500 to $550, which translates to Rs 41,648 to Rs 45,813 for the Indian market. Going by the company’s tradition in the Indian market, the device could be priced well within the Rs 50,000 mark. The previous iteration of the phone was launched at Rs 43,999.

What To Expect From The Pixel 8A
Several online leaks have hinted that the Pixel 8a will come with a 6.1-inch full-HD+ OLED display fused with a 120Hz refresh rate. Besides, you will get a peak HDR brightness of 1,400nits, something seen on higher-end Pixel 8 phones. If this happens to be true, it would be a significant upgrade over its precursor that offered a 90Hz refresh rate.
The Pixel 8a is said to have the in-house Tensor G3 processor at its heart, akin to the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. However, the Pixel 8a will likely use a trimmed-down version of the chipset. The latter’s G3 chipset could use IPoP (Integrated Package on Package) technology, unlike FOPLP (Fan-Out Panel Level Packaging) seen on the regular G3 chipset.
As for the cameras, the handset will come equipped with the same set of cameras as the previous generation. That said, the Google Pixel 8a will pack a 64MP primary camera with OIS support and a 13MP ultra-wide camera. Up front, users will get a 13MP front camera.
To keep the lights on, an upgraded 4,500mAh battery is expected to come fitted under the hood. The battery is said to support 27W fast charging, but buyers shouldn’t expect a charging brick in the package.
