Gemini is the next generation of Google’s digital assistant, now more powerful than ever, thanks to artificial intelligence. Irrespective of where the user stands on the Google Assistant vs Gemini debate, Google seems to be taking the lead with Gemini integration across its apps and services, replacing Google Assistant functionality with Gemini’s AI smarts.
If you are someone who wishes to have Gemini AI in your car, here’s some good news for you. Gemini AI could soon arrive on your car’s Android Auto. An APK teardown helps predict features that could arrive on a service in the future based on work-in-progress code.
However, it is likely that such protected features might not make it to a public release. In the latest Android Auto v12.8.143544, there have been several clues that hint it could be next in line for Gemini support.

Android Auto Could Soon Incorporate Gemini AI
The most obvious clue is the fresh addition of the sparkle icon, which has become synonymous with AI currently. Google users this icon for the AI chatbot, so its presence within the Android Auto app indicates that some Gemini functions could be present in the app.
The icon packs a monochrome look, as the color gradient details are present in the other XML file. The icon file’s name features the word “kitt,” which could be the name of the Gemini integration with Android Auto. Further, other strings related to “kitt,” point toward a Gemini integration.
The word “live” has also been noticed in the string, and the “Start conversation” text is also in line with what one expects with Gemini Live. Lastly, the GeminiLiveAssistantAction function was also highlighted in another area of the app code, showing that it was intentionally added, so these Gemini Live mentions aren’t just coincidences.
All that said, all signs indicate that Google could bring Gemini Live to Android Auto. Gemini Live is available only to Gemini Advanced subscribers, but it doesn’t require any specialized hardware, so it can be presumed that it would be available to all Android Auto users who are subscribed to the correct Google One plan.

Gmail For Android Gets Gemini AI Chatbot Support
Google seems dedicated to improving and upgrading its AI chatbot, Gemini. The company plans on integrating Gemini into all its services. First, Gemini was featured on Gmail web in June, and now it is coming to the mobile interface as well. The company recently announced that its chatbot, Gemini, is now available on the Gmail app for Android.
The feature, dubbed Gmail Q&A, is now rolling out for all Android users, but it comes for a price. The feature is only available to users who have subscribed to the advanced version of Gemini. Google has also stated that the feature is also coming soon for iOS users.
