AMD has expanded its chipset lineup with the announcement of its new Ryzen 9000 Series desktop processors in the Indian market. The latest Ryzen 9000 Series will be bringing improved performance and reliability. The new chipsets are based on the company’s latest Zen 5 architecture and are designed to offer high-end performance for gamers and content creators.
The company states that the Zen 5 architecture brings 16% better IPC performance compared to “Zen 4.” Also, the flagship Ryzen 9 9950X, as per the company, is the snappiest desktop processor in the world.
The AMD Ryzen 9000 series comes well-equipped to fulfill the needs of gaming enthusiasts. The processors claim to offer smooth gameplay at high frame rates across a diverse range of titles, from graphics-intensive AAA titles to competitive esports games.

AMD Ryzen 9000 Series Under The Hood
AMD claims to have fine-tuned these processors to offer good performance for resource-intensive tasks such as 3D modeling, video editing, animation, and product visualization.
Key features of the AMD Ryzen 9000 Series desktop processors include Advanced “Zen 5” Architecture and enhanced overclocking capabilities. The processor comes with PCIe 5.0 support that ensures compatibility with the latest high-speed storage and graphics cards.
The Ryzen 9000 series has TDPs ranging from 65W to 170W. Moreover, a larger L1 cache and up to 80MB of total cache in the top-tier model claims to significantly reduce latency in data-intensive applications.
To complement the Ryzen 9000 series, the company has also introduced two new chipsets: AMD X870E and X870. These processors are crafted specifically to work in perfect harmony with the new processors with support for PCIe 5.0 DDR5 memory, USB4, and WIFI7.

AMD’s Top Chipset Makes Its Debut In First Handheld Device
The new GPD Pocket 4 is the latest entrant in the handheld market but with less emphasis on gaming. Unlike Steam Deck, GPD’s new mini-PC comes with some of the latest hardware and could blow away its competitors.
The form factor of this device is interesting, but the AMD Zen 5 chip under the hood is equally interesting. GPD’s Pocket 4 will be the first handheld to use one of AMD’s best chipsets, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and the Radeon 890M GPU. This should give it a leg up in performance over systems like the ROG Ally X, especially when it comes to gaming.
Apart from the performance gains, the device comes packed with an 8.8-inch display with 2560 x 1600 resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate that can reach up to 500 nits of brightness. Some of the other specs include LPDDR5X RAM running at 7,500MT/s and up to 4TB of SSD storage.
