The Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center has launched the “Tiangong,” a humanoid robot that is capable of running like humans at a speed of 6kmph. This makes for a big leap in robotics development, with Tiangong being the world’s maiden fully electric humanoid robot to achieve this feat.
Measuring 163cm tall and weighing 43kg, the Tiangong robot comes with a lightweight design that enables it to run in a stable manner. It uses several visual perception sensors, a high-precision inertial measurement unit (IMU), and 3D vision sensors, allowing it to navigate its environment efficiently.
Moreover, the robot comes packed with high-precision six-dimensional force sensors for accurate force feedback. Tiangong utilizes a new humanoid robot motion skill learning method dubbed “State Memory-based Predictive Reinforcement Imitation Learning.” this method was important in achieving Tiangong’s ability to run in a natural way.
