EA's most significant acquisition Respawn Entertainment has already developed a number of iconic gaming franchises, including Titanfall and Apex Legends. And now EA's CEO Andrew Wilson has shared that Respawn has quite a few noteworthy titles up its sleeve.
At the Goldman Sachs Communacopia & Technology Conference on Wednesday, Wilson praised Respawn’s work on games such as Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and the Apex Legends (the latter had debuted after EA's $455 million acquisition in 2017). Wilson also shared that not only has Respawn been the most crucial acquisition for the company, but the studio also has some new projects that are yet to be announced.

Respawn Entertainment Has Apex Legends Titles And Multiple Star Wars Games In The Works
“We haven’t done that many acquisitions, we’ve done a few,” Wilson said. “Respawn of course was maybe one of the most incredible acquisitions ever done in the industry. They’re an incredible team and they’ve created incredible value for us, for our shareholders, and certainly for these global communities of players across Apex and the Jedi series."
And you should imagine that there’s some other things going on at Respawn that we’re very excited about, that we’re not going to talk about but that we’re very excited about just given the quality of that group, added WIlson.
Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that it's currently hiring for the next Star Wars Jedi game; it was reported last year that it also plans to create two games set in the Star Wars universe, a first-person shooter and a strategy game. Reports suggest that development has already begun on the untitled first-person shooter, which is being helmed by Peter Hirschmann, who has worked for Star Wars titles and has also contributed to the first Medal of Honor, which was eventually redeveloped by Respawn.
Moreover, during an interview earlier this year, Respawn boss Vince Zampella shared that a small team at the studio was working on an original IP; video game director Steve Fukuda is leading the team. Shortly after Apex Legends Mobile shut down, Respawn recently opened a third development studio in Wisconsin to work on Apex Legends as well. However, there's no news on whether EA has any plans for Titanfall 3, after the second game got mixed reviews after its release.
