Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is set to release this November and the game just dropped a baddie reveal trailer where the OG villain Vladimir Makarov reveals his sleek, tatted new look. A former military strategist, known for his ruthless tactics, Makarov was the unseen antagonist in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and also played the villain in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. In the original games, he was the man who set World War 3 in motion.
The 1:48-minute trailer uses live-action sequences and footage from the game but doesn't give too much of the gameplay away. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be a direct sequel to last year’s game and will arrive on November 10, across PlayStation and Xbox consoles, in addition to PC.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare III Seems Pretty Ambitious
The ending of 2022's Call of Duty Modern Warfare II saw Infinity Ward dig up one of the most disturbing moments from the series' past. The post-credit scene saw Makarov send an ominous text to a group of hijackers on a plane, "No Russian". This was an obvious nod to one of the most infamously disturbing mission in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (2008) which saw Makarov mercilessly shoot up an airport packed with civilians.
The trailer does not offer any major hints about the features or mechanics. However, social media users on X (previously Twitter) have mixed reactions to Makarov's new avatar and some fans took to the platform to break down his tattoos.
"Hey I know we're all in our "what's up with Makarov's tattoos" era and I have a contribution He has this on his stomach which in English translates to "Don't go to the forest if you're afraid of wolves." Very much a "no risk, no reward" kinda statement #MWIII #Makarov," wrote one user.
"I saw the reveal trailer of Makarov. It looks like a gulag when I saw a tattoo design as a church but it was actually a gulag. This means Verdansk is going back baby. Heck yeah!" wrote another fan, speculating about the return of Verdansk. Interestingly, CoD leaker CharlieIntel also confirmed that the Modern Warfare 3 campaign will feature Verdnask. The new trailer shows a plane crashing into Verdansk’s stadium and some fans think this will tie in with the No Russian mission.
