  • A major leak has revealed plans and details about unreleased titles such as Oblivion Remaster, Fallout 3 Remaster and more

  • These documents were accidentally published as part of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) versus Microsoft trial surrounding the acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

  • Microsoft's plans for a new disc-less Xbox Series X design with a new gyro controller have also been leaked

A wave of key information has been pouring out from the leaked documents that were used in FTC vs. Microsoft trial. A number of confidential and unredacted Microsoft docs have leaked due to being incorrectly hidden. The leaked ZeniMax release schedule list posted publicly on Resetera revealed a host of games and DLCs planned for release and one of the most important titles of the bunch is named ‘Fallout 3 Remaster’.

It’s almost fifteen years since Fallout 3 was released. The third major instalment in the Fallout series was the first Fallout to be developed by Bethesda after acquiring the rights to the franchise from Interplay.

For years, fans have been asking for a new Fallout title and this is the first piece of real evidence that suggests that something close to it might have been in the works. The game has been scheduled for the fiscal year 2024. However, the document is three years old and plans for Fallout 3's remaster may have been cancelled or put on the back burner.

Another big reveal from the document is the Oblivion remaster (originally set for fiscal year 2022). According to the leak, 2022 was expected to see the release of the Oblivion Remaster and an Indiana Jones game. For 2023, the document lists plans for Doom Year Zero and its DLC, Project Kestrel, and Project Platinum. In the financial year 2024, games such as The Elder Scrolls 6, a licensed IP game under Project Kestrel and a Dishonored 3 were anticipated, besides the Fallout 3 Remaster.

The leaked documents also featured some projections vis-a-vis revenue. While Starfield was projected to generate $900 million in revenue, The Elder Scrolls 6 was expected to reach $1 billion upon its release. Besides the data leak, Microsoft has recently faced another damaging leak as its plans for a mid-generation Xbox console refresh have been revealed in great detail.
