Following last week’s preview in the Forza Monthly stream, Playground Games unveiled the new Forza Horizon 5 Upgrade Heroes series. This time around, Forza Horizon 5 is set to feature two new cars designed to promote the upcoming Barbie movie; the two cars are visible on the Horizon Promo Menu but are not available to claim yet.
Under Chevrolet, there’s now a 1956 Barbie Movie Corvette EV, and under GMC there’s now a 2022 Barbie Movie Hummer EV Pickup. In the past, franchises such as Halo, Back to the Future and Hot Wheels, have been a part of Forza 5 crossovers. But this is one of the biggest promotional crossovers considering the budget for the upcoming Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling is around $100 million (the movie is set to release on July 21).

Forza 5 Promises Two Deliver Brand New Updates
Besides these two numbers, a number of performance cars are coming to the Forza franchise. Headlining the series is the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, which is a variant of the standard Mercedes-AMG GT, and features a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. In addition to the free reward cars, a Horizon Racing Car Pack will be available for purchase. In the Summer playlist, players can get a chance to win the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series for 20 points and Lynk & Co 03+ for 40 points.
Moreover, the Horizon Test Track returns to the series without car restrictions, so players can test drive the modifications on the track. They can also access the track via a map icon. The popular car culture YouTube channel, Donut Media, is also making a second appearance in the game. The 13-chapter Donut Media Hi-Lwo Horizon Story lets players join the High or Low team, modify a project car and enter challenges to navigate their way through upgrades of different parts.
