Apple officially took the wraps off of its iOS 18 last month, featuring a redesigned Home Screen, Apple Intelligence, RCS support, and much more. Since then, the company has been testing pre-release builds of the upcoming OS update with developers and its fans.
This is to curb the bugs and optimize the performance before the public launch this fall. iOS 18 beta 3 is now available to users who enrolled in Apple’s developer program, and it packs some of the previewed additions.
Beyond the typical bug fixes and minor tweaks, this beta includes some of the previously announced features, such as InSight in the Apple TV app. This tool lists the on-screen actors, alongside the names of included music tracks. This beta also automatically offers dark mode icons from unoptimized third-party apps, sparing developers the need to manually adjust their submissions.

Apple iPhone 16 Pro Could Borrow This Feature From 16 Pro Max
The last few weeks have been pretty quiet in terms of iPhone 16 leaks, but a new rumor from the Apple supply chains corroborates something we’ve been hearing for a while. The rumor suggests that the iPhone 16 Pro will also feature a 5x optical zoom camera like the 16 Pro Max.
According to a report from DigiTimes (via 9to5Mac), key suppliers have landed more orders for iPhone tetraprism periscope lenses from Apple. Those are the lenses that are capable of offering more depth while fitting in a compact form factor. In 2023, the iPhone 15 Pro Max model was exclusive to this feature. The smaller handset comes with a 3x optical zoom camera sensor.
It would make sense for both Pro models to feature the same camera setup, which would then give consumers a straight between the two sizes. It’s looking increasingly likely that it will be the case in 2024, but nothing can be said for sure right now.
