Apple is set to host its WWDC 2024 event tonight (June 10). If you are someone who wants to know what Apple has in store for its users, this event could be exciting for you. Apple is expected to make several big announcements at WWDC 2024, including the introduction of iOS 18, iPadOS, and watchOS. Users can expect several new AI features on iOS.

As per recent leaks, Apple users might get to see multiple new AI features in iOS. A recent report suggests that the company might also unveil a new password app for iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS. The new app is created to enhance device security.

A recent report from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman suggests that the company’s upcoming event will feature a more secure password app for iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS. The new app will be powered by iCloud Keychain, allowing users to easily access and save login passwords.

How Will Apple’s New Password App Work

As of now, Apple offers password facilities for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS users, but the access process is pretty lengthy. Apple is addressing this with a more convenient login password experience.

The new Password App will enable users to access passwords with just one tap. According to Gurman’s report, Apple’s new password app will categorize login accounts, such as Wi-Fi networks and passkeys, for easy access.

However, there’s some bad news for iPhone users. As per a report, Apple’s standard warranty will no longer cover tiny cracks on iPhone or Apple Watch displays. The warranty has never covered damages on the body of the device such as dents, scratches, and broken plastic on ports, unless they are due to defective material. However, the warranty covered single hairline cracks that did not look like a spiderweb or have any point of impact.

Apple Reduces The Number Of Updates iPhones Will Receive

Apple has not provided a minimum guarantee for software support, though it has often bested other firms when talking about updates. Now, though, Apple has finally committed to a minimum support timeline for the iPhone, and it’s much less than what some of its competitors provide.

In April 2024, the UK’s Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure (PSTI) regulation came into effect. This regulation forces companies that produce, import or distribute internet-capable devices in the UK to comply with certain security requirements.

Since iPhones are also internet-capable products, Apple is required to comply with the UK’s PST regulation. The company also released its compliance statement for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, revealing that its “defined support period” is a “minimum of five years from the first supply date.”
