The popular messaging app WhatsApp has been bringing new features through beta updates in the past few months. Now, the service is rolling out a new feature that helps users create events in group chats, which was previously only available in the Communities section.
According to a new report by WABetaInfo, this feature started pushing this feature to limited beta testers with WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.9.20 update and will soon be available to other beta users and later through a stable update. This update aims to simplify the process of organizing meetings directly within the WhatsApp chats.

How Can You Use ‘Event’ Icon For Group Chats
The Event icon can be accessed through the clip menu within group chats, enabling users to seamlessly create and manage events directly within the group chats. The event icon can also be used to add more functionalities in the future, including the ability to add event reminders and set cover photos.
Once a user creates an event, group members can view and accept invitations while the creator can update the details of it later. Like all the messages in the app, these events are also end-to-end encrypted, making sure all the participants are safe and secure.
While WhatsApp has not disclosed a definitive timeline for the global stable rollout of the Events feature across all group chats, users can expect this functionality to be rolled out within the coming days. Moreover, WhatsApp has introduced some more features to its platform, including the ability to add 32 members through group calls and an AI chatbot.

WhatsApp To Let Users Share HD Photos, and Videos By Default
WhatsApp is upping the game with a new default setting for sharing high-quality photos and videos. According to a report from Android Police, the popular messaging app is rolling out a new feature that lets users set “HD” as the default upload quality for videos and photos. This means users won’t have to manually choose HD every time they share media, making high-quality sharing easy.
Previously, as an alternative, some users had to attach media as documents to avoid WhatsApp’s compression. This workaround added extra steps, but thankfully WhatsApp is putting an end to it.
The latest update eliminates the need for these workarounds, making sure their loved moments are preserved in high quality. The company has been working on this feature for a long time, with Meta launching HD photo sharing last August. Media files sent using this feature are marked by the HD label in the bottom left corner. Later, Meta expanded the feature to include HD video sharing as well.
