Last week, there were reports that Galaxy AI might reach select models in the Galaxy A series in August or September. It was pretty much known that this AI exclusivity would end someday, and now, the company has finally made some announcements regarding the same. Samsung has revealed that its advanced AI features will be making way for budget/mid-range phones and tablets.
The popular Circle to Search feature is the first to land on Galaxy A smartphones and Fan Edition tablets. Samsung has announced that it is coming to the Galaxy A54, A34, A55, and A35 this month. Interestingly, even select 2023 Galaxy A phones are also getting this feature. Samsung confirmed Circle to Search for the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+ tablets.
Circle to Search is based on current Google technologies, i.e. Google Lens. However, Samsung brought it into One UI more intuitively with the Galaxy S24 series in early 2024. Lens has been around for years, but it feels like the partnership between Samsung and Google marked the tipping point where the tool became more popular.

What Other AI Features Coming To Mid-Range Devices
Once Circle to Search arrives on the Galaxy A series and Galaxy Tab S9 FE tablets, users will be able to summon this tool on any screen by long pressing the home navigation button or gesture handle, then tap on or circle on-screen objects using their fingerprints or S Pens to do contextual online searches.
TM Roh, President of Mobile experience, said, “We are dedicated to bringing best-in-class AI technology to a broader audience, empowering users with the option to work more efficiently, create more freely, and enjoy richer, more personalized interactions with their devices.”
Samsung hasn’t said anything about more Galaxy AI features coming to Galaxy A phones and Fan Edition tablets, so it can’t be said for sure if Circle to Search is the first and only one. It will be interesting to see if Samsung will make any other AI features available on non-flagship devices.

Samsung Rolls Out Two Security Features For Galaxy Devices
Samsung constantly brings out new privacy and security features for its phones and tablet users. In the past few years, it rolled out some great features like Knox and Secure Folder.
Now, the company is adding two new security features to Galaxy smartphones and tablets: Quick Share Private Sharing and Samsung Cloud Enhanced Data Protection.
Private Sharing is a new mode inside Quick Share, where users will be able to turn it on by clicking the three-dot button on the top right corner of the screen after picking Quick Share while sharing files. Once users turn on this mode, they can share up to 20 files and a maximum limit of 200MB.
