Samsung took the wraps off its Galaxy AI with the advent of the Galaxy S24 smartphone lineup. And, that resulted in 53% of Samsung’s Q1 2024 operating profit, many would believe the new AI features were the main reason for the success.
Sadly, some other rumors suggest that the upcoming Galaxy S25 will be a letdown in the battery department, as it will continue to feature the same 5,000mAh battery as its predecessor.
However, the company seems to be planning to give the phone’s battery department an AI twist. Samsung intends to boost the battery’s backup by 10 % with something it called ‘Battery AI.’ Rumors suggest that the new functionality would be able to eliminate the non-essential tasks running on the smartphone in order to boost the overall backup.

Will Battery AI Come With The Next Iteration Of Galaxy AI?
Going by the nomenclature of the feature, Battery AI, it seems it could be an intelligent feature that would be rolled out with the next iteration of Galaxy AI. The feature will increase the overall runtime of the device without compromising its performance.
PandaFlash took to its X handle to cite an unnamed source revealing the feature, and users can witness around 5-10 percent increase in the total runtime. Battery-boosting software has been around for several years now, with several programs available for both smartphones and laptops.
Sadly, it tends to decline the performance by downclocking the CPU and GPU, while, in other cases, the software doesn’t achieve anything from it. In some cases, the 5G modem’s maximum throughput is also restricted, nullifying the entire point of running these programs on the devices.
While the report doesn’t explain how Battery AI will function, the tipster believes the feature will ‘eliminate’ unnecessary background tasks that make use of system resources to deliver a longer backup.

Samsung’s In-House NPU Will Amplify The Feature
The tipster did not mention that the new Battery AI will arrive for the Galaxy S25 series. However, most of his posts suggest that the company’s upcoming flagship series with Galaxy AI would be a major part of Samsung’s marketing push. While other apps make users do the picking and choose which background processes to stop, Battery AI will do it for them.
It seems Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 or Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2500’s NPU will be integrated with Battery AI to push the phone’s battery life to another level. Unfortunately, not much is known about the feature as of now, but more information will be available as the launch inches closer.
