Samsung seems all ready to enter a new wearable category this year with the launch of the Galaxy Ring. The company teased the wearable at its Unpacked event in early January and offered more details about it at MWC 2024. Since then, there have been several leaks about the Galaxy Ring, including its model numbers and its launch timeline. While the pricing details are still under wraps, a new leak suggests the potential cost of the wearable.

According to tipster Yogesh Brar, Samsung will be pricing the Galaxy Ring for $300-$350 in the US. The company might charge extra for certain finishes or sizes. Still, if the leaked price is accurate, the smart ring would cost almost similar to the Galaxy Watch and other Android smartwatches, which could be a dealbreaker for many.

The closest competitor to the Galaxy Ring is the Oura Ring 3, which also comes at a price of $300. And it does not include the additional $6 monthly subscription needed to access the full set of tracked health metrics.

Will Samsung Charge Extra For Galaxy Ring’s Health Features?

It’s unlikely that the company will paywall Galaxy Ring’s advanced health tracking features behind a subscription. So, compared to its main competitor, Samsung might just be able to justify the high price of the smart ring. In India, the smart ring could come at a price of Rs 35,000, which is similar to the current price of the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic.

Samsung’s next Unpacked event is reportedly just days away, with reports suggesting that the product launch could happen in Paris on July 10. A recent leak even revealed the full list of devices that could be launched at the event, including the Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Watch 7, Buds 3, and its 2024 foldable, the Z Fold 6 and Flip 6.

Unlike smartwatches, the Galaxy Ring won’t feature a display. So, some might find it expensive to shell out $300-$350 on a smart ring just to track their health and sleep metrics. But the Galaxy Ring could be a great alternative for people looking for only a wearable capable of tracking health and does not require daily charging.

Galaxy Watch 7 To Monitor Atrial Fibrillation With AI

Samsung launched the Galaxy AI alongside its flagship Galaxy S24 series at the start of this year, and the new Bespoke range of appliances also leverages AI than ever before. Now, it makes sense for the company to use these AI tools for its wearable range of devices. The company has suggested that it will be bringing these AI features to its upcoming Galaxy Watches.

However, the company hasn’t revealed how it wants these AI tools to enhance the experience on its smartwatches this year. There’s no word on how the Galaxy Watch 7 lineup will make use of AI to its advantage, but a recent patent application might have spilled the beans.
