Apple seems to be planning a big AI upgrade with iOS 18 that will be rolling out with the fresh set of iPhone 16 series models. But yet again Apple could put more emphasis on the buyers to consider getting the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max models. Latest leaks hint the upcoming iPhone Pro models will witness a big charging boost, both for wired and wireless speeds.
Apple, like any other flagship brand, has refused to foray into the charging arena for years, along with Samsung and Google taking a similar stance. But things might not be the same this year if the rumors of the new charging tech are to be believed.

iPhone 16 Pro And 16 Pro Max To Get 40W Fast Charge
The leak suggests the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will support up to 40W wired charging speed and 20W MagSafe wireless charging. The real-time tests will prove whether these rumored upgrades help in actual charging speeds for the iPhone 16 Pro models in any way.
But it is good to see reports of Apple trying to focus on fast-charging tech even if it’s not trying to break past 60W, 80W, or even 100W fast-charging speeds. These specific figures could also be related to the possible increase in the battery capacity of these models, which would force the company to push the peak charging levels to maintain the standard charging speeds that iPhone users get now.
At a time when OnePlus is introducing new battery tech to reduce the size without compromising on the charging, it is evident that the premium peers need to at least come closer to these staggering figures. The new iPhone 16 series will be launching in a few days and users will get all the details about the models and how quickly they can charge.

Apple iPhone 16 Pro Could Borrow This Feature From 16 Pro Max
The last few weeks have been pretty quiet in terms of iPhone 16 leaks, but a new rumor from the Apple supply chains corroborates something we’ve been hearing for a while. The rumor suggests that the iPhone 16 Pro will also feature a 5x optical zoom camera like the 16 Pro Max.
According to a report from DigiTimes (via 9to5Mac), key suppliers have landed more orders for iPhone tetraprism periscope lenses from Apple. Those are the lenses that are capable of offering more depth while fitting in a compact form factor. In 2023, the iPhone 15 Pro Max model was exclusive to this feature. The smaller handset comes with a 3x optical zoom camera sensor.
It would make sense for both Pro models to feature the same camera setup, which would then give consumers a straight between the two sizes. It’s looking increasingly likely that it will be the case in 2024, but nothing can be said for sure right now.
