Apple is going against a $1.95 billion fine that was imposed on the company by the European Commission for killing fair competition from music-streaming rivals, including Spotify (via Bloomberg).
The Commission fined the company back in March, claiming Apple abused its dominant position in the market by forbidding music streaming apps to tell users about cheaper subscription prices outside the app.
The EU also mandated the company "remove anti-steering provisions" for music streaming apps in the European Economic Area (EEA). The company also updated its App Store rules to enable music apps in the EEA to inform users of workarounds to purchase digital music content and add website links for buying digital music subscriptions.

Apple Wants To Fight Back European Commission
Apple has reportedly filed a suit at the EU’s General Court in Luxembourg to challenge the March ruling. The Commission told the media that it will be defending its decision in court against Apple.
When the fine was imposed, Apple said the decision was reached "despite the Commission's failure to uncover any credible evidence of consumer harm." The company also said that the ruling "ignores the realities of a market that is thriving, competitive, and growing fast."
Apple also said that three different related cases that the Commission has mounted against the company in the last eight years and found no evidence of consumer harm or anti-competitive behavior.
The fine also closed a long-running investigation by the EU, triggered by a complaint from Spotify back in 2015 into Apple’s treatment of third-party music apps on its App Store.

Apple’s Roadmap For Its Future Devices
Apple seems to have big plans for its upcoming range of products. A leaker who goes by the name of @Revegnus1 on X posted the company’s roadmap that suggests what Apple has in store till 2027.
The roadmap seems to have come from the Korean website Samsung POP. As per the roadmap, in 2024, Apple was supposed to launch Vision Pro and the first OLED iPad. Both of which have already seen the light of day. Apple recently took the wraps off of its 11-inch iPad Pro (2024) and the 13-inch iPad Pro (2024).
The roadmap also suggests that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will witness a hike in RAM to 8GB from the 6GB seen on the non-Pro iPhone 15 models. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max already come with 8GB of RAM.
In November last year, it was reported by Ming-Chi Kuo, TF International's accurate Apple analyst, that besides the iPhone 16 Pro Max, the iPhone 16 Pro will come with a Tetraprism (periscope) zoom camera with 5x of optical zoom. The roadmap corroborates these reports.
