The Invincible is getting its own video game, as developers Skybound have turned to crowdfunding for the AAA title. The crowdfunding campaign for the Invincible video game will be up until April 30, 2024. At the time of writing this article, the campaign has committed and reserved $449,250 and is expecting more in the coming days.
The Invincible does not have any major video game titles in the industry. While the comic-book superhero was popularized through the recent Amazon Prime animated TV show, it is still yet to get its breakthrough in the gaming scene.

Skybound Begins its Crowdfunding for an AAA Invincible Game
An Invincible video game will soon commence its development at Skybound, the developers behind popular titles like The Walking Dead. The development will likely begin after the developers have fulfilled their monetary requirements through their crowdfunding campaigns.
According to Skybound's statement, the project will be developed by over 30 employees, who have also worked at various AAA publishers such as EA and Activision Blizzard. The developers have also mentioned that the title will be a 'first-of-its-kind Invincible experience.'
The Invincible project was first teased in March 2024, when Skybound brought in Chris Paulson, an Activision Blizzard executive for the announcement. The Activision Blizzard exec was present to help activate the commercial launch of the title. According to reports from Game Developer, Skybound has been working on the title since 2023.
As a part of the sales pitch, the studio has promised that the upcoming superhero title will be a premium AAA title, with various expansions and even a multiplayer mode. While this is yet to have an official display, gamers are curious how developers will handle a multiplayer experience with the superhero title.
Skybound has stated that the release of the game will be followed by a long list of content:
"enable future releases, expansions, and new character arcs and adventures for years to come."
This statement also gives many fans an idea that the title may lean towards the live-service formula, as it may keep launching content based on missions or expansions. However, nothing regarding this matter has been confirmed yet.
Skybound is not the first studio to host a crowdfunding campaign, as it is a pretty popular way of gathering appropriate funds for a project. However, it is yet to be seen how the studio makes use of its allotted funds for its Invincible video game.
