Rise of the Ronin is Coming to PlayStation 5 This Year With Fast-paced Action Gameplay
Rise of the Ronin is scheduled to launch on March 22, 2024, and will be exclusive to the PlayStation 5 console. From the gameplay perspective, gamers will be able to create a custom character and fight their enemies during the Boshin War. The gameplay features a blend of katanas and firearms, and one can use them in various ways as shown in the trailer. The gameplay overview featured many instances of sword combat where one would rely on tactics like parrying and dodging, similar to games like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and Ghost of Tsushima. The setting of Edo in the late 19th century also teases great potential for the title as very few games have capitalized the essence of the era.
Rise of the Ronin takes place near the end of the Edo period in Japan. The era features a war between Shogun Tokugawa and many other rebels. The gameplay also showcased a lively city of Japan with many NPCs to interact with. Gamers can indulge in a variety of quests in their journey and try out new moves on their enemies while free-roaming the world.
Rise of the Ronin is easily one of the most anticipated titles for the year which received some airtime in the first State of Play broadcast for this year. Sony has also mentioned a second event in early February. Gamers are hoping to see some more reveals for the year.
