Grand Theft Auto publisher Take-Two Interactive has shared that it expects a 'record' turning point in its next fiscal year, renewing speculation that GTA 6 will be released before March 2025 (when the fiscal year ends) which could mean a potential launch in late 2024 based on past release patterns.
During its earnings report for the first quarter of fiscal year 2024, Take Two announced net bookings of $1.2 billion for the quarter and also predicted a total net booking between $5.45 to $5.55 billion for the entire fiscal year 2024. Take-Two CEO and Chairman, Strauss Zelnick confirmed that the company is positioning the business for a significant inflection point in fiscal 2025 (that runs between April 2024 and March 2025). "We [Take-Two] remain confident that we are positioning our business for a significant inflection point in fiscal 2025, which we believe will include new record levels of operating performance," he said.

This isn’t the first time Take-Two has suggested its next fiscal year will promise a massive surge in sales. In May, Zelnick called fiscal 2025 a highly anticipated year for the company, and revealed that the company would be launching several groundbreaking titles that can enable Take Two to 'achieve over $8 billion in net bookings and over $1 billion in adjusted unrestricted operating cashflow'.
Although Take-Two has other franchises like NBA 2K, WWE, Borderlands, BioShock, and more, GTA has proved to be the most lucrative outing for the company, selling billions worth of units in rapid succession (GTA V sold $1 billion worth of copies within three days of its release).
Take-Two reportedly expects to launch 52 titles through fiscal 2026, including Zynga's new titles Star Wars Hunters and Top Troops. “We had a strong start to the fiscal year and achieved net bookings of $1.2 billion, which was at the high end of our expectations,” said Zelnick, in a recent interview. “Our performance was led by our catalogue of iconic, industry-leading intellectual properties, which continues to resonate with our player communities worldwide," he added.
