GTA 6 Lucia and Jason: What Do We Know About the Characters So Far

GTA 6's official reveal has been a massive hit across the internet over the past month. The official reveal trailer for the title crossed 160M views within the first month, surpassing GTA 5's trailer by around 50M views. The trailer officially confirmed the initially rumored two playable protagonists from the title, Lucia and Jason. The former is the first female protagonist in the franchise across eight of its mainline entries over two decades.

Naturally, the reveal garnered a lot of attention across the gaming community, as fans wanted to know more about the characters and their origin. There is not much to know about these characters through the official reveal; however, many rumors and leaks have surfaced on the internet in the past few weeks.

Who is Lucia in GTA 6?

In the official reveal trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, Lucia is shown to be a convict in prison, where she meets with a jail counsellor who is asking about her past. More clips from the trailer also hint at her crime life where she teams up with Jason, another playable protagonist in the game. However, it is not confirmed if her jail time is before or after her crime clips shown in the trailer.

Earlier, many speculations stated that her jail time took place before her crime life, as Lucia may have been involved in some minor trouble with the law, leading her to a small time of incarceration.

As far as her origins go, one can tell that Lucia is a Hispanic woman of Latin American origin. Another controversial rumour by Rockstar Universe has stated that Lucia may also have a child in the game, who she will look after throughout the story. The child will also be the youngest character in the GTA universe. As of now, very little official information is backing up this information.

Everything About Jason From GTA 6 So Far

While gamers are interested in knowing more about Lucia's character, another playable protagonist who will take the lead in GTA 6 is Jason. Not much is revealed about Jason in the recent rumours except that he could be an undercover cop or ex-military individual who has turned his life to crime as seen in the recent trailer.

He is paired with Lucia through her crime adventures and is also shown to be her love interest in Grand Theft Auto 6. This Bonnie and Clyde-inspired duo is the first time the franchise has ever done something like this. Gamers will have to wait till Rockstar comes with new trailers and official insight into the plot to know more about these characters.

GTA 6 has a release window for 2025 and will only launch on the current gen consoles, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. For gamers waiting for a PC edition, one will likely have to wait.
