Recently, a potential art for Assassin's Creed Red appeared on a game writer's LinkedIn profile, allowing fans to speculate various theories about the title and its protagonist.
The image appeared on Pierre Boudreau's LinkedIn profile, an award-winning writer for the Assassin's Creed series. This event set off a series of speculations about the title and how the protagonist will look ahead of its official announcements by Ubisoft.

Assassin's Creed Codename Red Character Art Appears on a Game Writer's Profile
As Ubisoft stated, Assassin's Creed Red will allow one to explore ancient Japan. That said, one of the protagonists will possibly be a female assassin, as seen in the image. The artwork features a female assassin holding a Katana in her right hand. The character also wears a traditional Japanese attire, with a kimono-like robe. The image also features an assassin's logo themed with Japanese kanji right below it.
A recent report by Insider Gaming mentioned that Assassin's Creed Red will feature two playable characters, similar to Assassin's Creed Syndicate, released in 2016. Moreover, how the gameplay will play out is still under the curtains. In recent installments, Ubisoft has allowed gamers to play both male and female characters. Assassin's Creed Odessey and Valhalla delivered more freedom, with the latter even allowing one to change their gender mid-game.
In Assassin's Creed Codename Red, one of the protagonists will be a female shinobi, as seen in the recent artwork. Another protagonist will be an African Samurai based on a real-life samurai, Yasuke.
What to Expect From Assassin's Creed Codename Red?
As players take on the role of two separate assassins in feudal Japan, Ubisoft has promised that Codename Red will exclusively focus on stealth and iconic Assassin's Creed gameplay. The title will be much alike the core AC theme, allowing one to take on enemies with a low profile. Ubisoft has also mentioned that Codename Red will be the next main installment alongside many planned Assassin's Creed entries, such as Nebula, Raid, and Echoes. One of the other in-devel opment AC projects is Hexe, which will possibly share a release window of 2026.
When Will Assassin's Creed Codename Red Launch?
Fans can expect Assassin's Creed Red to come out in 2024, as mentioned by Ubisoft's offical timeline. Alongside Codename Red, one can also look forward to more AC entries in the coming months, such as Assassin's Creed Nexus and Codename Jade.
