On 04 September 2023, Free Fire India announced that they would delay the launch by a few weeks to refine all the aspects of the game.
Here is what Free Fire India had to say about the delay:
To ensure we can offer the best possible experience to all of our Free Fire India fans from the start, we will postpone the launch by a few more weeks.
In addition to refining the gameplay, we are taking some time to fully complete our localisation of the Free Fire India experience.
Soon, the Cricket World Cup Winner Captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, was announced as the brand ambassador of Free Fire India, and he will be featured as a player character in the game "Thala." After the announcement, everyone in the community looked forward to getting their hands on the game, and organisations started signing up rosters. After the delay, the players must wait for Garena to announce the new launch date.
