EA Sports FC 24 Cross-Play Update and Ultimate Team Transfer Markets Explained

EA Sports FC, the rebranded football video game built by EA Sports, following the conclusion of EA's partnership with FIFA, is set to release on September 24 for PS5/PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. EA SPORTS FC 24 is expanding cross-play into all multiplayer online modes, which essentially makes the PC version of EA Sports FC 24 almost as compatible as its console counterparts. Players will now be able to team up with their friends who are using other platforms as well as play against mixed cross-platform teams across all modes where crossplay is available.

There are currently three different versions of EA FC 24; there's the current generation, the last generation, and the Switch edition. The Nintendo Switch version is not eligible for crossplay as it’s incompatible with the other versions of the game. The producers of the game took to the game's official website to break down the cross-play support to players.

EA Has Confirmed Separate Ultimate Transfer Markets For Console & PC

PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S users can play EA FC 24 together. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users can play together. With the crossplay game modes EA is expanding on the crossplay mechanics introduced in FIFA 23 and is introducing this feature to more game modes in EA Sports FC 24, even the niche modes like Clubs and Volta Football. The crossplay game modes available in EA Sports FC 24 are Ultimate Team (Rivals, Champions, Online Draft, Online Friendlies, Play a Friend) Ultimate Team Co-Op (Squad Battles, Rivals, Friendlies) Online Friendlies Online Seasons Co-Op Season Clubs Volta Football (Arcade, Squads).

Back in August, EA confirmed separate Ultimate Team transfer markets for console and PC. Ultimate Team is a big USP for EA FC 24. The complete edition will have a centralised market in Ultimate Team and transfer markets will remain separate in the new game. Historically, cheating has been a problem on PC during the last few FIFA titles due to the addition of cross-play. PC players, especially in FIFA Ultimate Team Champions, could quit whilst still drawing and they could still claim a win and some PC players even have their team appear invisible to the opposition.
