Valve's official post on Twitter/X revealed that they are updating CS2's Limited Test with a new rendition of Inferno. Moreover, the update will also feature other exciting changes. One of the biggest changes that the update will incorporate is the CS Rating system. The developers state that it will precisely display a player's skill in Counter-Strike 2 and will allow players to view regional and World Leaderboards to know how they stack up.
The second feature includes the per-map Skill Groups. This Skill Group will allow one to master their favorite maps while they learn others. Valve also changed the map length to 12 round halves, similar to Valorant. It will now take overtime to determine a winner in matchmaking. Counter-Strike 2 players cannot draw their games in a competitive queue.
Valve mentioned that they have invited as many eligible players as possible to the Limited Test. To be eligible, one must have the following:
Once a player has received an invitation, they can head to CS:GO's main menu and click on the top-right banner. The invitation will ask the player to exit and download CS2's Limited Test.
Players invited to the Limited Test can earn their CS Rating in Premier Mode by playing various maps including the newly added de_inferno.
