Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, a direct sequel to last year's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II just dropped a gameplay trailer. The game will arrive on November 10, across PlayStation and Xbox consoles, in addition to PC. The game released a trailer last week spotlighting the franchise's OG villain Vladimir Makarov in a new avatar. The game developed by Sledgehammer Games, in partnership with Infinity Ward, is set to offer cinematic experiences, free-form Open Combat Missions (OCM), multi-player choices, core zombie features, returning features, instant customisation and more.
OCMs are designed like open-ended objectives, featuring multiple approaches that depend on player choice, from stealth to run-and-gun action. Players can explore and leverage tactical and lethal equipment and manoeuvre through the sizable landscape of a mission’s AO. In the game, Captain Price, and Task Force 141 face off against the ultranationalist hardliner Makarov. The Campaign mode will feature new Open Combat Missions, which offer players various routes and options depending on their preferred play styles.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare III Promises A Fresh 3v3v3 Mode, Updated Zombie Mode & More
Core Maps
Modern Warfare 3 has 16 launch maps (including the ones from CoD: Modern Warfare 2 which have been modernised) and also has the ‘largest Call of Duty Zombies map ever’. Expansive maps like Afghan, Derail, Estate, Favela, and Highrise are already favourites with the player base and have been rebuilt from scratch, featuring updated gameplay and modern visuals for 6v6 play.
One of the biggest USPs is the series of four huge environments composed of three large-scale Battle Maps where Modern Warfare III’s Ground War and Invasion game modes will be fought, alongside a bigger War map, that marks the return of the War Mode that first debuted in 2017’s CoD: WWII.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare III Pre-Order Bonuses
The game is flanked by a host of new and returning features. The togglable Tactical Stance feature, for instance, is intended for small, close-quarter combat situations, and offers enhanced mobility and handling. The game is bringing back map voting and classic mini-map behaviour that'll show unsuppressed fire as red dots (any player firing an unsuppressed weapon will be temporarily and visibly marked for enemies).
The game promises expanded loadout options and improved responsiveness across movement abilities and some early details on Modern Warfare 3's Zombies mode have also been revealed. For the first time, this mode will enable multiple squads to team up against undead hordes in open-world PvE missions which will take players across different regions as part of a story focusing on Dark Aether Zombies. Like the last game, the most premium edition is the Vault Edition (priced at $99.99), which offers Campaign Early Access, Early Beta Access, two new weapon vaults, a Soap Operator Pack for personalisation, and BlackCell which includes the Battle Pass and BlackCell Sector that has CP, Battle Token Tier Skips, and more. This exceptional content drop includes the following. Activision has announced that the standard edition will include the full game, plus open beta early access and for those that pre-order, campaign access a week ahead of launch.
All PC versions are available for pre-purchase via Battle.net or Steam. Those who preorder or pre-purchase the Standard or Cross-Gen Digital Edition of Modern Warfare III, can upgrade to the Vault Edition if the upgrade is on the same platform where they initially purchased it. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II was the fastest-selling title in the history of the series and crossed $1bn in revenue in 10 days. The fate of the sequel is of major interest to the industry considering Microsoft’s ongoing attempt to acquire Activision Blizzard. The continued availability of CoD on non-Microsoft-owned platforms, has been a crucial bone of contention for market regulators.
