During the Nintendo Direct presentation, Warner Bros. Games revealed that Batman: Arkham Trilogy will release on the Switch sometime this fall. The bundle will include Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and Arkham Knight as well as all the previously-released DLC for the trio. It was reported last year that a Nintendo Switch port of WB Games and Rocksteady titles, Batman: Arkham Asylum and its two sequels were in the works for an August 2022 release. But nothing was heard about the series until now.
The 1:25-minute trailer has some stunning visuals and some classic shots and cutaways. Batman: Arkham Trilogy is set to offer the experience of the 'definitive version of Rocksteady's trilogy,' which includes all post-launch content from all three games, including DLC expansions, Batsuits, Batmobiles, and among others (but not the 2013 prequel, Arkham Origins). The gameplay is known to feature a balance of combat, stealth and puzzle-solving.
Batman: Arkham Trilogy Finally Makes its Way to Nintendo Switch
"Become Gotham City’s ultimate protector across the iconic Batman: Arkham Trilogy,” reads the collection’s official description. “Face off against notorious DC Super-Villains: The Joker, Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, and more in Batman: Arkham Asylum. Step into the shadows of Batman: Arkham City’s open world, the new maximum security ‘home’ for thugs, gangsters, and insane criminal masterminds. In Batman: Arkham Knight, tear through the streets of Gotham and take on the ultimate threat in the trilogy’s epic conclusion. Experience critically acclaimed gameplay & AAA original storytelling across all 3 games, PLUS all DLC, in one complete package.”
Even though some Switch fans were hoping for Rocksteady's Suicide Squad game, the thrill of the Arkham collection is also unmissable. "One of the best video game trilogies ever created! If you didn’t have the opportunity yet to play Rocksteady‘s games, this is the time. It’s amazing they even got to run the gracefully ageing Arkham Knight to run on Switch," wrote one user. Another user writes, "Rocksteady dropping the Arkham Trilogy on a new console would've been the perfect opportunity to not only add the Pattinson Batsuit to Arkham Knight, but to release a next-gen patch for Arkham Knight and, if possible, the first two games. I'm talking 4K 60FPS gameplay (with ray tracing if possible, or at least a fidelity or performance option)"
