Ubisoft Revealed Assassin's Creed Shadows In Their Cinematic World Premier Trailer
Assassin's Creed Shadow cinematic trailer revealed the story setting and the protagonists of the game. Assassin's Creed Shadow is set in 16th-century Japan during the Azuchi-Momoyama era. The game features dual protagonists: a Japanese shinobi, Naoe Fujibayashi, who belongs to the Iga province, and a real-life historical samurai, Yasuke. The story seems to revolve around Naoe, who is here to take revenge against the monarch who destroyed her village. Naoe and Yasuke travel together to free Japan from its oppressors.
Naoe is a Japanese Shinobi who is a determined, strong-hearted, and stealth-heavy character, whereas Yasuke is based on the African samurai Yasuke, who is a strong and combat-heavy character. Noae is set on a mission for revenge to fulfil her promise. Yasuke is a loyal Samurai for Oda Nobunaga and will learn new things about life and himself as he fights with his demons from the past. Players can choose the character for each quest and battle alongside them to progress in the game.
Throughout the trailer, fans can learn that Noae and Yasuke are here to battle with the oppressors of Japan, and when asked, “Which master do they serve?” both reply, “We are the shadows that serve the light.”
