VCT 2024: Masters Shanghai - Teams, Format, And Prizepool

After the end of the VCT 2024: Stage 1 tournaments across the four regions, fans have their twelve teams that will compete in the Valorant Champions Tour 2024: Masters Shanghai. The top three teams from each region have advanced into the VCT 2024: Masters Shanghai. The winner of each region has directly qualified for the Playoffs, whereas the other eight teams will fight in the Swiss Stage for their spot in the playoffs.

VCT 2024: Masters Shanghai will feature the top twelve Valorant teams across four prominent regions of the world. The tournament will kick off on 23 May 2024 with the Swiss Stage followed by the Playoffs, which will follow the double-elimination format.

Valorant Champions Tour 2024: Masters Shanghai To Kick Off On 23 May 2024 

From 23 May 2024 to 27 May 2024, the second and third-placed teams from each region will compete in the Swiss Stage. The teams competing in the Swiss Stage are:

• Team Heretics (EMEA)
• FUT Esports (EMEA)
• G2 Esports (Americas)
• Leviatan (Americas)
• GenG (Pacific)
• T1 (Pacific)
• FunPlus Phoenix (China)
• Dragon Ranger Gaming (China)

In the first round of the Swiss Stage, the second-placed teams will compete against the third-placed teams of another region. The match-up for the first round of the Swiss Stage is as follows:

• 23 May 2024 - G2 Esports vs T1
• 23 May 2024 - Team Heretics vs Dragon Ranger Gaming
• 24 May 2024 - GenG vs Leviatan
• 24 May 2024 - FunPlus Pheonix vs FUT Esports

After the first round, the second and third round matchups will be based on the team’s win-loss record. In the second round, the teams with one win will play against each other, and the teams with zero wins will be up against each other. The teams with two wins will advance into the Playoffs, whereas the teams with two losses will be eliminated. In the third round, the teams with one win and one loss will go against each other, and the winners will advance into the Playoffs. All the matches will be a best-of-three series.

The winners of the VCT 2024: Stage 1 from each region have received direct Playoffs seeds and will be joined by the four other teams from the Swiss Stage. The teams qualified for the Playoffs are:

• 100 Thieves (Americas)
• EDward Gaming (China)
• Fnatic (EMEA)
• Paper Rex (Pacific)

The Playoffs will be played in a double-elimination format, and all the matches will be a best-of-three series, except for the lower final and the grand final, which will be a best-of-five series. The top-seeded teams will be given a chance to pick their first-round opponents. All twelve teams will compete for the precious VCT points and the lion’s share of the $1,000,000.
