Paper Rex Wins The Thrilling VCT 2024: Pacific Stage 1 Finale Against GenG

The VCT 2024 season is bringing luck for Paper Rex and their fans as they reclaimed their Pacific Champions title by defeating GenG in the grand finals of the Valorant Champions Tour 2024: Pacific Stage 1. The victory will taste even sweeter as they qualify for the VCT 2024: Masters Shangai as the first seed and with Jinggg back in the squad. While Jinggg won the MVP title, t3xture stole the spotlight by recording the most kills (105 kills) in a single Valorant series. 

Paper Rex defeated GenG with a 3-2 scoreline in the nailbiting mid-season finale to crown themselves as the Pacific champions. While GenG lost the finals, they will fly alongside Paper Rex and T1 (3rd placed team) to Shanghai for the VCT 2024: Masters Shanghai.

Paper Rex Takes Their Revenge By Defeating GenG In The Grand Finale Of VCT 2024: Pacific Stage 1

After losing the finals of the VCT 2024: Pacific Kickoff finals against the Korean giants, Paper Rex looked hungry to take their revenge. Paper Rex got the perfect opportunity in the grand finals of the VCT 2024: Pacific Stage 1. Both the teams entered the playoffs as the higher-seeded teams, but GenG had an early setback as they lost their first playoff game against T1. While GenG had to fight their way through the lower bracket, Paper Rex looked flawless throughout the playoffs. After defeating T1 in the lower finals, GenG met Paper Rex in the grand finals.

The best-of-five finale started with GenG’s favourite map of Lotus. While GenG was struggling in the first half of the map, they accelerated on the attacking side and demolished PRX’s defence to win the first map by a 13-9 scoreline. Paper Rex bounced back in the second map of Sunset, where they consolidated on their first-half lead and finished the map in their favour, resulting in a 1-1 equaliser. 

Paper Rex carried their momentum in the third map of Icebox despite GenG’s resistance. Despite GenG’s effort, they couldn’t push the game into overtime, resulting in PRX grabbing their second win of the finale with a 13-11 scoreline. In the fourth map of Bind, GenG bounced back to keep themselves alive. Just like the previous maps, Bind's map featured a balanced first half followed by a one-sided domination in the second half. GenG continued to live for another map as they defeated Paper Rex with a 13-9 scoreline on Bind. 

To decide the champion, both the teams entered the map of Split, where GenG started pressurising Paper Rex from the first round and secured an early lead. When it seemed that GenG might snatch another win from the hands of Paper Rex, something stood up in the second half to win back-to-back rounds for Paper Rex. By winning eight rounds and conceding a single round in the second half, Paper Rex reclaimed the Pacific champion titles from the hands of GenG, with their star player Jinggg crowned as the finale MVP.
