Cal Kestis actor Cameron Monaghan from the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor games has confirmed that a third Jedi game is in the works at the recent Ocala Comic Con 2023. At the panel, the actor mentioned that he and Respawn are working together on a third installment in the series. He also mentioned that it's a huge undertaking, and there have been multiple conversations regarding the title's development. With many essential aspects still awaiting confirmation, Monaghan says that Respawn can make something 'cool.'
Cameron Monaghan Confirms a third Star Wars Jedi Game at Recent Comic Con Event
Right before the news from Monaghan, the panel featured Stig Asmussen, the director of both the Star Wars Jedi titles announcing his departure from Respawn Entertainment. With a change in leadership, the future Jedi title may head down a very different development or creative path. However, what Respawn has in the pipeline for the third title is still relatively unclear. The ex-director mentioned back in February 2023 that he had hoped to make a third Star Wars Jedi game following Fallen Order's success. In an interview with IGN, Asmussen also mentioned that he always saw the Jedi series ending with a trilogy.
What to Expect from Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Sequel?
Star Wars Jedi Survivor suffered from a rather shaky launch that left much to be desired in terms of overall performance and polish. Despite its flaws, the game shined through with its solid gameplay loop and unabashedly "Star Wars" story that saw Cal take several leaps in terms of character development. With a sequel seemingly in the works, fans are expecting the game to further deepen the gameplay loop with new systems and gameplay elements.
