Unlikely actors keep auditioning to star as voice actors in Mario and it's hilarious. After Nintendo announced that Charles Martinet, the original voice actor of Mario will be 'stepping back from recording character voices' for their games, Final Fantasy actor Ben Starr uploaded his audition for playing Mario, a few days ago. To keep the gag running, Starr recently shared The Witch actor Ralph Ineson's audition as Peach on his social media.
A bespectacled and bearded Ineson is seen saying in his usual deep voice, "Mario, it's me, Princess Peach. Save me, please." X users had a riot with this unusual Princess Peach audition that sounds nothing like what she would sound like. One user even used the voice clip and put it over an animated video of the game.

Ineson is also a part of the Final Fantasy ARPG, much like Starr. He is known for voicing the role of Cidolfus Telamon, a former soldier turned outlaw, who is one of the many iterations of Cid found throughout many Final Fantasy games. Ineson also famously voiced the character of Lorath Nahr in Diablo 4 and Charles Vane in Assassinâs Creed 4: Black Flag. He also played Dagmer Cleftjaw in a handful of Game of Thrones episodes and will soon star in the Nosferatu movie.
Others have in the past re-imagined Mario characters being voiced by unlikely actors. TikToker Ben Kearns had taken to social media in April to share what Mario's rival Wario would sound like if he was voiced by British funnyman Matt Berry.
More recently, Kearns also imagined Berry as a Baldur's Gate narrator. "Good God man, arenât you done with the character creation yet?â Kearns says, impersonating Berry's theatrical tone.
