PlayStation 5 Pro is Set to be a Lot Faster Than the Standard PS5 Models
A report from CNBC earlier this month suggested that Sony is reportedly ready to launch the new version of the PlayStation 5 in 2024. Moreover, these reports were also backed up by renowned analysts in the industry, who stated that the company has cut its forecast for the sales of its 'flagship' console. Fast forward to the middle of March this year, the recent The Verge report has shed more light on the arrival of the PlayStation 5 Pro.
The standard PS5 is a little more than three years old at the moment. The console has delivered gamers cutting-edge hardware, where the console has run titles like Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and God of War Ragnarök. That said, the recent reports are suggesting that the Pro model will be even more powerful. The same reports also suggest that there has been a 45 percent rendering performance improvement over the regular model of PS5, which is a huge upgrade for the Pro model. Judging from the percentage upgrade in rendering, the PS5 Pro can likely deliver a lot more FPS in the current gen titles, especially benefiting competitive and multiplayer games.
Tom Henderson's report from Insider Gaming also states that the PlayStation 5 Pro may offer up to 3x the ray tracing performance in games. In some cases, one can also expect 4x. Many speculate that Sony is upgrading the efficiency of graphical units on the PS5 Pro by shifting towards the Radeon RX 7800 XT from the standard RX 6700. The upgrade not only delivers exceptional ray tracing performances in the game but also pushes more frames in current-gen titles without hampers. Henderson's reports on the system leaks also mentioned 576 GB/s of system memory, which is approximately 28% more than the standard version of the console.
