Sony to Reportedly Launch PlayStation 5 Pro Version in 2024

Sony is reportedly ready to launch a new version of the PlayStation 5 this year, according to a report from CNBC. The report was given to the outlet by renowned analysts, stating that the company has cut its forecast for the sales of its 'flagship' console. This move is possibly done to garner more interest for the PlayStation 5 and offer cutting-edge hardware for the upcoming launch of Grand Theft Auto 5 next year. 

There is no official information available from Sony regarding this matter yet; however, fans suspect this news to be true.

PlayStation 5 Pro Maybe Coming to the Market According to Recent Reports

The PlayStation 5 console is a little more than three years old now, with Sony launching various exclusive titles on the platform. The console has had a gradual growth in popularity among fans and has delivered promising gaming and multimedia experiences to users. That said, with the coming age of technology, gamers are ready to see a slight upgrade over the console.

The predecessor PlayStation 4 also saw a significant upgrade over the regular version with PS4 Pro's release in 2016. Considering that, a PlayStation 5 Pro can be equally exciting news for gamers interested in a new version of PS5. In a forecast revealed by Sony last week, the Japanese corporation announced that the console has sold 25 million units for the fiscal year. This is a huge feat of success for the console as more gamers are interested in the PlayStation 5. 

Judging from the success and previous cycle of the PlayStation 4 consoles, analysts suspect the arrival of PlayStation 5 Pro three years after the console's release. Serkan Toto, the CEO of a Tokyo-based games consultancy company called Kantan Games has reported to CNBC that there is a broad consensus in the game industry regarding Sony preparing a release of PS5 Pro in the second half of this year. 

The same report has also stated that Sony is focusing on a 'great piece of hardware' for GTA 6's release in 2025. This statement is even more believable as the next Grand Theft Auto installment is one of the most anticipated games of the decade as it has been in the making for a long time. Not only Rockstar Games is expected to push out breathtaking visuals, but the engine will also see significant changes compared to their past games. If the title is set to be hardware-demanding, a PlayStation 5 Pro will likely be a fine choice for console gamers.
