Before the announcement of the trailer release of GTA 6, fans had a fair share of leaks, with the return of Vice City and the introduction of the dual protagonist in the game. When no one was expecting it, GTA 6's leaked footage surfaced online, showcasing the new world Rockstar has created. The video was first seen on TikTok under a temporary account, i_see_in_4k, and it is suspected that the son of a Rockstar Games employee uploaded the clip.
GTABase.com, one of the most trusted sites for Rockstar Games coverage, commented on the incident: "In a totally unexpected turn of events, it appears the 'leaked' footage has come from the son of a Rockstar Games employee." While it is rumoured that Rockstar plans to take down the video, the publisher has yet to take action.

GTA 6 Footage Leaked Three Days Before The Trailer Reveal
On 01 December 2023, Rockstar Games announced that the first Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer will be out on 05 December 2023 at 9 AM ET. Thanks to the announcement poster theme, fans could smell the return of Vice City. In 2022, over 90 videos of GTA 6 were leaked on the internet, confirming tons of information about the upcoming iteration of the franchise. The leaked videos backed the arrival of the dual protagonist in GTA 6, Jason and Lucia, inspired by the story of Bonnie and Clyde. Lucia, who was seen robbing a restaurant in one of the footage, will be the first-ever female lead in the GTA franchise.
After the GTA 6 trailer launch announcement, two back-to-back videos went online on TikTok stating, "GTA 6 confirmed leaked map." When one of the TikTok users asked, "From who is this?" the account owner replied, "Some dev's son." While talking about the leak, GTABase.com said:
The evidence to suggest the video has come from someone related to the employee in question is fairly convincing. Again, if this is true it's extremely disappointing that this has occurred so close to the official reveal.
While everyone is talking about the viral footage, the leak may be from someone posing as the son of a Rockstar Games employee. Here is the final comment from GTABase.com on the incident:
It's possible that the photo being used as evidence is not the son of the employee or that the source of this leak is from a third party attempting to pose as such.
Fans are frustrated over the leak since the first trailer launch is a few days away. Reacting to the news, one fan commented, "Could be, either way, why the hell does this have to happen now, we are 3 days away from the first official trailer."
