A few days ago, Mr. Jensen Huang met India's Honourable Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and the two talked about the future of AI and India's contribution towards the same. After their meeting, Nvidia announced their collaboration with the Indian giant, Reliance.
The collaboration will focus on accelerating Artificial Intelligence's growth, enabling state-of-the-art AI technology to help India become an AI powerhouse.
Nvidia Partners with Reliance To Advance The Growth of AI Infrastructure in India
The availability of indigenous chipsets has been a problem faced by the Indian technology market. Nvidia's collaboration with Reliance will provide the nation access to what they're labelling Advanced Superchips. Reliance Jio will be working on delivering the necessary AI infrastructure like data centres, and will command its execution. The partnership aims to build an AI infrastructure faster than India's fastest supercomputer. The AI model will focus on building language models trained in India's diverse languages.
Reliance is looking to set up 2000 MW of AI-ready computing across cloud and edge locations. Here is what Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, said about their collaboration:
As India advances from a country of data proliferation to creating technology infrastructure for widespread and accelerated growth, computing and technology super centres like the one we envisage with Nvidia will provide the catalytic growth just like Jio did to our nation's digital march, I am delighted with the partnership with NVIDIA and looking forward to a purposeful journey together.
Nvidia is also planning to collaborate with Tata Group, which includes Tata Consultancy Services(TCS), Tata Motors and Tata Communications. Tata Group will provide the required infrastructure and their collaboration will be for enterprise purposes.
