Konami recently announced plans to release the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection, which brings the original trilogy, including Snake Eater, to modern consoles - introducing them to a whole new generation of fans. A recent development on the official website for the collection seems to be hinting at Master Collection Vol. 2, which will contain remasters for Metal Gear Solid 4, 5, and Peacewalker.

This is absolutely massive news for fans Metal Gear Solid 4 will finally be free of its shackles on the PS3 and available to a whole new audience for the first time. The report comes from Twitter user Nitroid, who seems to have discovered placeholder buttons on the website's page for potential upcoming releases. This is far from a confirmation but a report from IGN suggests that there are plans by Konami to include 3 games in Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2.

Metal Gear Solid Will Finally be Available Outside the PS3 for the First Time

The Master Collection Vol.1 is already a pretty strong offering for both fans of the original games and newcomers ready to try the franchise out for the first time. There is a possibility that Konami could simply be testing the waters with Vol.1  to gauge interest in the franchise.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is one of the most celebrated games in the series but one that has often been the least-played title, given that it had remained locked to the PS3 without a remaster or remake in sight.

However, one of the more exciting opportunities, here, is with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, one of the most divisive games in the series. Primarily because it is believed that the game remained unfinished and Kojima couldn't see it though because of the rift between him and the publisher, Konami. It is unclear whether these games will be remakes or remasters and all fans can hope is that Konami has the foresight to see this one through without Kojima at the helm.
