New GTA 6 Leak: Rockstar Games Reportedly Mentions Upcoming TItle in Site API

Rockstar Games have recently added numerous mentions of the upcoming GTA 6 into their API, as the news surfaced on the web. Prominent source @GameRollGTA on X recently posted a tweet on the matter, where they included a screenshot of the code of the API as well. The source was primarily taken from a Twitter bot called @when_vi whose task is to actively scan the Rockstar Games website and look for anything about GTA 6. 

Yesterday, the bot found matches for Grand Theft Auto 6 in a response from the Rockstar Games API.

Rockstar Games Mentions GTA 6 in Their Recent API Response; Fans Find Out More About the Upcoming Title

Following the first tweet from @when_vi on X, the bot posted another thread, mentioning that there is nothing much to find in the official API section. However, the bot found a cover art page for GTA VI, which was not responding and had an error 404 message code when attempting to open the link. This highly suggests that a cover art, alongside more assets for GTA 6 will be released soon.  he API response did not mention anything else regarding GTA 6. According to @GameRollGTA, Rockstar Games is seemingly preparing for an announcement 'very' soon. 

When opening the API response through Pastebin, one will be able to see numerous lines of codes regarding GTA 6 in the code editor section. The line of code which made fans the most curious regarding the matter was:

Not only did it confirm an official screenshot from the game, but it also made fans extremely hyped as they are still waiting to see more official assets and gameplay glimpses from Grand Theft Auto 6. 

There was no mention of an official release date in the codes, meaning fans will still have to take Rockstar's word on the 2025 launch window for GTA 6. However, as many analysts are predicting, the release date may get postponed due to official reasons within the company.

The lines of codes also added variables to the API, as there were mentions of platforms, developers, and more information that may prove useful to the fans. However, they had the value of 'null' next to yet. This could mean that Rockstar has yet to fill this information in the official API. 

Gamers must wait for further information from Rockstar if they wish to know more about GTA 6 officially.
